My First Photo Of The Week: Winter In Ruidoso
I am excited to post my first ‘Photo of The Week’. It is called ‘Winter in Ruidoso’ and was taken from the Inn Of The Mountain Gods in New Mexico. The day this image was captured was my first visit to the area. I remember thinking how glad I was that this gorgeous location was not far from White Sands National Monument. A lot of my future as a photographer will be in New Mexico and finding great landscapes is exciting.
My Own Private Ruidoso Tour
We were lucky enough to have some local tour guides for the day. James and I have friends that live close by in Alamagordo and they insisted that I see the sites. I appreciate their patience while I photographed as much as I could. They also took me to a little frozen waterfall up in the Lincoln National Forest called Bluff Springs.
Trying to get this image was a little tricky. You may notice that the majority of the lake had frozen over and there was snow and mud everywhere. After some serious slipping and sliding I got this shot from out the front of the hotel. You can see the famous mountain Sierra Blanca in the distance. This area and hotel is one of the most popular wedding locations in New Mexico. I could see why the scenery is stunning, and the Inn of The Mountain Gods in awesome. I can’t wait to stay there in the future.

More About ‘Photo Of The Week’
‘Photo Of The Week’ will be posted every to my blog every Wednesday. The images and stories behind them can be drastically different. I decided to do this for many reasons. The main one being the story behind a single image is often more compelling than the story behind a gallery. This way I can share a more personal and intimate story about a moment.
I will be posting the camera settings and gear I used to capture the featured image for that week. The photographs I feature are a combination of never before seen images along with some of my more well-known pieces. So make sure you stop by to check them out.
