Happy New Year Everyone
.
Traveling through New Zealand and now the United States has left little time for blogging, although I was determined to wish you all a Happy New Year. I was lucky to bring in the New Year in Southern New Mexico with some very dear friends. I am currently in Las Cruces and immediately after publishing this post I am off to Alamogordo, just past the White Sands National Monument.
After enjoying the geothermal parks and beautiful scenery in New Zealand I have been spending my time playing around in the snow here in the United States. After living in Outback Australia for just under 11 years I am not accustomed to the cold weather here in New Mexico. The first day I arrived I was overwhelmed with excitement as we drove through my first snowstorm.
The next day I woke up in the historical mining town of Silver City in New Mexico’s southwestern region. The area is internationally known as the home of the wild west outlaw ‘Billy The Kid’. I am happy to shine a light on the area for another reason, and that is its incredible beauty, the surrounding mountain ranges sure are a sight for sore eyes.
Here I have posted some images from the driveway of my American family’s home and others are from my adventures on the outskirts of town.
Once again Happy New Year!
